Waiting for Dusk

While the boys were at their parties, Shannon made a cool modification (not sure if that’s the correct term in RC world, but I’m going to go with it for my blog purposes) to the RC trucks and we wanted to check it out.  The catch:  we had to wait for dark.  He put headlights and tail lights on the trucks.  It was pretty cool and even I was a little excited to see them in action.  While we waited for dusk, the boys decided to do a little tumbling and wrestling in the yard.

Excited to see the lights in action.

Yep, he’s kicking his brother.

And just so you can get the full effect of our waiting activities:

Oh and it did finally get dark enough to see the truck lights!

October 6

Party #1: Matthew had his 9th birthday party at the skating rink.

My boys spent much of the skating time either on the wall or the floor.

Next up was laser tag.  The shots inside the arena only turned out like this:

You can imagine how happy our little gun lover was.

Party #2: Next was Zoe’s party. Her seventh party was a lot of fun.  It brought the Mosers back to us for a day, which is always great!

She would not give me a nice, sweet smile for anything.

It was a wonderful day of celebrations. 🙂

RIP

We love hand-me-downs over here.  Luke and Nicki have saved us hundreds (possibly thousands) of dollars over the last seven years with all the clothes we have gotten.  It’s been fun to see the outfits every few years as they made their way down the line, some of them even surviving from when Lukie wore them!  But perhaps our favorite item has been the swimming flip flops.  The boys loved wearing these and I know my boys even got two summers each out of them. This past week, they finally bit the dust.

Goodbye fabulous flip flops.

Signs of Fall

The other day on a local radio station, they were having callers share their ‘signs’ that fall was here.  People were sharing things like putting out pumpkin decorations, enjoying cooler temperatures and one even dared to share that when she goes to shaving her legs every other day, she knows fall is here (can’t disagree there!).  It got me thinking and I’d like to share my top 5 signs of fall.

5.  I get to eat chili!

4.  I drink hot chocolate.

3.  I don’t want to crawl out of the covers in the morning. I love that feeling when it’s so cool that I bury myself in covers up to my neck.  It’s one of the most contented feelings.

2.  I’m ready to think about replacing my summer purse, even if it is a Vera Bradley.

And the number 1 reason I know fall is here you can read about in this email I received the other day:

I know, Christmas is not fall, BUT fall does mean that it’s time to start thinking and planning and that totally excites me!

Tis almost the season!!! 🙂
