Happy Easter!

Our Easter day was absolutely gorgeous.  We started with a quick round of pictures in the front yard.  It’s probably our last holiday in the house, so it was nice to finally take a family shot in front of it.

For some reason, I’ve always liked to dress the boys the same at Easter.  It’s the only time I do it.  Again, not sure why, but I really enjoy it for that one day.  This year, they both seemed to be between sizes and I refuse to buy the smaller size, so they looked a little baggy, but oh, so cute.Screen Shot 2013-04-09 at 8.48.23 PM

Then it was off to church and then Meme’s house for the egg hunt family meal.

We ended our great day with dinner out with the rest of our family.  A great way to celebrate what Jesus did for our family.

Snow Day

Well, as hard as I prayed, God decided that we did indeed need a snow day.  So rather than whine about it all day, I just enjoyed it.  We woke up to almost a foot of snow.

After shoveling the drive and walkway with Daddy, it was time to…dye Easter eggs.  What else do you do on a snow day…?

Then back outside to hit the hill for some snow boarding.

After staying out sledding for quite awhile,  we convinced Daddy to make us one awesome snowman!  At this point, Patrick was quite cold and wet and had had enough.  So, we talked him into a fast picture before we got the hat and arms on to complete him.

IMG_0373I went picture happy as always, so check out all the pics in the March album (doesn’t seem right to have that much snow in something labeled March…).

Spring Break Bust

Spring break for the boys started with a fever for Patrick…and 20 degree wind chills.

So after a doctor visit and antibiotics, they were locked inside for four days.  What to do if you’re a boy and stuck inside with your brother? Wrestle!  And that ended with a staple in the back of Patrick’s head….

staple

Guess you could say the side table won.  Fortunately, it was the same doctor that saw him for strep and she liked him, so she took good care of him.  Although from what Daddy tells, you wouldn’t know it with all the screaming and hysterics from the numbing shot and staple gun!  Sooo happy Daddy was on Spring Break duty that day and not me!

The week did end well as they went on to build tents in the living room, which was a little more fun.  Luckily Daddy is creative that way.

photoAnd what greater way to end a cooped up spring break than with a snow day.  Perfect.

And just to make a point, one last pic:

Happy Birthday, Patrix

We had our fourth Lego and second Ninjago birthday party this past weekend.  From the time his eyes opened on Friday morning, he asked when it was time to open presents.  Not quite as gracious as his older brother was at this age, but still fun to see his excitement and anticipation.  He stood by the small pile that was here before the party started and waited…and asked if it was time…and waited…and asked…and waited…and asked some more.

IMG_4517I had great plans for the cake, but ran out of time and didn’t get this creation ordered in time.  But it would have been great, don’t you think? 🙂

Screen Shot 2013-03-17 at 10.08.07 PMSo instead, I went with a Michele original…well knock off of Mac’s cake. 🙂

IMG_4520Patrick’s request was ‘the black Ninja’ on his cake.

O.Ver.Whelmed.

The move has begun. And I am overwhelmed.

I would rather pack and move all in one week.  I can’t stand dragging it out over four months.  However, Shannon would rather do a little at a time.  We also have to de-clutter the house to put it on the market.  So I agreed to begin moving things to the basement of the new place.  Gotta tell ya, I’m a little stressed and discouraged! We’ve taken four loads over and if you walked into my house, you would never know I’ve packed and moved a thing.  How did we get so much stuff?!
