The McMahon Family

When I came downstairs this morning, this is what I saw under the tree.

When I asked him why he put that under the tree, he said, “Because it’s Jesus’ birthday!”  Some things we want to teach them might be sticking! 🙂

With our first snow, the boys had a ball.  They played out for hours.

We lost our neighborhood hill for sledding when we moved.  Plus there really didn’t seem to be enough for sledding. But they found a way for fun anyway.

Then we got the real snow. It was absolutely gorgeous.  Unfortunately, I had to work, but the kids were out it in it before 8:00.  Shannon did get a photo of their snowman for me!

I’m not sure what happened with these photos and the lighting…but you get the idea.

Patrick had a homework assignment to decorate a gingerbread man.  Of course, Mac wanted to join in. So we had craft night then created our countdown chain.

Mac really was excited about the evening…contrary to what his face shows here. 🙂

Okay, major fail on my part on the pictures for this holiday.  I was too consumed with hosting that I forgot my camera!  I will do better next holiday, even if I host!

We loved having the other McMahons come and stay with us.  Despite illness, I think they had a pretty good time.  I know we did.

Movie night.

I managed to coordinate having food around to feed the crew for almost all meals. I had them planned out and was quite proud of my culinary skills by the third night.  Maybe a little too proud.  My pulled pork didn’t get done in time the last night and we were forced to take the crew out to El Toro.

Good news – it was delicious the next night…too bad most had left by then.

Let me explain.  I ordered a Hot Wheels cake, per Mac’s request.  They called and told me that they forgot to order the kit.  No big deal. Mac actually wanted camo instead.  So I changed the order to camo.  Went and bought plates and napkins.  Then we picked up the cake….and it was hot wheels….Sigh.  Turns out the kit came in and they figured we’d want our original theme.   Hence, Hot Wheels cake and camo plates/napkins.
