With the return of the cousins, we had our Christmas celebration with Grandma and Grandpa Rapp and family. It was a fun evening of desserts, treats and of course presents.
It was the perfect end to a perfect Christmas season. We are blessed.

The boys wanted a real bow and arrow set for Christmas. Daddy was happy to oblige. 🙂
They tried them out for a few minutes but it was just too cold to stay out too long. They can’t wait for warmer weather!
Christmas day brought quite a bit of excitement. The boys were kind enough to sleep in till 8:30. Then we headed down for the present fun. Mac has inherited his father’s ability to guess Christmas presents based on the way they’re wrapped. Mac saw a big bag and figured it was the bow and arrow he wanted. Patrick woke up hoping for an iPad.
I don’t think they were disappointed.
Then it was off to Grandma Neukomm’s for more fun with the family.

We got each other the same present! I’m hoping Shannon’s shot of us is more flattering to me…this one, not so much.
Then it was home to rest for a bit before ending the day hanging out with Halle and Eleanor…oh and Nate, Kimberly and Mom.
Another year over. But before the new one begins, a Christmas celebration. And what a one it has been.
It started with Christmas Eve. We went to the service at church to hear the Christmas story, the reason we celebrate.
The boys did a great job of listening and worshipping during the whole service. I was proud of them both. We even tried a small photo op with the cousins afterwards.
Then back home for our first present!
Christmas cookie baking. Baking cookies with the boys is always a great idea, but turns into a mess with me usually losing my patience and someone getting in trouble. You know how it goes. With everything you try to do with kids. Or maybe that’s just our house. Anyway, I didn’t think they’d miss it this year at all. With me working evenings and weekends for Dad, I decided this year we would just forego it. But then, Mac asked the other night why we hadn’t baked cookies yet this season.
So after working all day for Dad, I came home and we baked cookies. I was tired. I was cranky. The kids were a wreck as usual. I got upset. As usual. I hadn’t been to the store in weeks, so we didn’t have the right supplies. But it was fun. And we made delicious cookies.
