School prep in 2020

Getting ready for school looked a little different this year. Setting up my new classroom was fun, but lonely. With visitors restricted, I did all the work myself this year! Luckily middle school classrooms require MUCH less than an elementary room!

That’s me!
Moving in – great space!
Room 606
As excited as I was to move into my room, I’m only in there for one period. The students have to stay in one place while the teachers rotate classrooms. So, here’s my mobile classroom!

Stocking up on the masks. We are all required to wear masks at school. I teach every day for five hours, Mac goes every other day for a full day and Patrick goes every day for three hours. That’s a lot of time wearing a mask. And to think that I had planned on only buying one.

Mac’s locker….They aren’t allowed to have lockers, so they have to carry all of their things in clear backpacks.
Mac’s home set up. He has remote learning from home every other day. It’s rough!

A Family Day at Allerton

We decided it was time to just get outside and stretch our legs. Shannon and Patrick had a fun time taking pics while Mac and I had quality time together.

Congratulations to Mac!

Due to no ceremony, he got to watch it with us. I’m feeling like a failure. I saw a lot of other moms (on evil Facebook) still throw graduation ‘parties’ for their kids with cake and banners…I didn’t do anything! I was going to make him dress up and do his hair for a nice graduation picture…but I didn’t even do that! Anyway, here it is. I am so very proud of him either way!

Here he is ‘walking in’ at the beginning.
Mac reading the comments spoken.
Here’s the ceremony. He ‘walks in’ at 2:18 and graduates at 18:14.
