Spring Break…of Sorts

The boys are on spring break this week.  Me, not so much.  So Shannon and I split the days to watch them and I got to stay home with them Monday and Tuesday.  (When it was still in the 70’s!)  Patrick got a couple of cool Play-Doh sets for his birthday, so we decided to try those out.

Mac making the noodles.

Patrick making the fries.

So proud of himself. He asked for this picture.

Popcorn, fries, Teddy grahams and a hot dog.

He also had some birthday money to spend, so we had fun blowing through some of that.

Then we hung around the park for awhile.

Daddy even joined us once he got home from work.

It was a great long weekend with my boys.  But just for the record, they are ready to go back to school. 🙂

Oh and one more picture just because HE’S ADORABLE.

Wearing Mommy's glasses.

Makes My Heart Melt

On the way home from school the other week, Patrick decided to share his stickers that he had gotten from his M.O.P.S. class.  I was so thrilled to hear this conversation coming from the back seat.

Toothless

I have to admit that I love the movie How to Train Your Dragon.  I find myself actually watching it every time the boys turn it on and walk away. I did this with Cars, too.  We watch it so many times, that I actually watch it and start to like it.  Both movies are great.  Anyway, the main dragon is Toothless.  I found a great toy of him and that’s what we gave Patrick for his birthday.  When I found the box in the store, it said “Breathes fire”.  I got a little nervous.  Not sure I want to give my three year old a toy that breathes fire.  But all the reviews said it was a great toy and that 2-3 year olds enjoyed it the most.  So, I got it.

It’s my favorite toy by far.

Is that not the funniest toy you’ve seen in awhile? 🙂

The Volcano

So Patrick got this cool volcano for his birthday.  It says that you put the egg in the volcano and you’ll get a new breed of dragon!  The box shows this awesome eruption going on, so we were quite excited!

Then the directions said, take off the plastic AND the color covering of the egg.  The excitement dwindled a little with the realization that our egg wouldn’t look exactly like the picture…then it all came crashing down as we dropped the egg in.  Be prepared for a looong four minutes…we weren’t. (**This four minutes represents about a half hour of real time.**)

The Dragon Party

Patrick loves the movie How to Train Your Dragon, so when trying to decide what theme to go with for his birthday, it seemed like an obvious choice:  dragons.  He was thrilled to see so many dragons in his presents.

Thank you to all the friends and family that joined us in showering Patrick on his third birthday.  See all of his pics and explanations here. 🙂  Oh and check out Shannon’s pics, too!
