Family Fall Festival

I’m not sure why I keep returning with the kids.  They do not participate in the games. It’s mostly just standing around while they try to decide what they will or won’t try. This year, they were most excited about the inflatables (Jumpy houses as they call them) and with their cousins there, it went a little smoother.  After standing around for an hour and just moving from room to room, they did the inflatables once then we headed home.  Here are a few of the pics from our mostly uneventful evening.

These pics sure look like fun.  I guess it was a success afterall. 🙂

My Boys in a Snapshot

The boys have divided their room in half.  Each has his own play area.  It’s actually working quite nicely and they each have their own space and are quite kind about getting a toy for the other if it’s on the ‘wrong’ side.  I haven’t even had to go in the last couple of evenings to ‘police’ them.  So tonight, I went in to put laundry away and I got a great look at it.  This shot shows each of my boys perfectly.Notice Patrick’s side looks like a tornado went through.  That’s how he plays.  Just pulling toys out, emptying bins for no reason.  Not even to find something.  Just to empty them.  Then there’s Mac’s side.  All has been cleared away except for his cars…

…which are lined up along the wall baseboard, around the toy box and all along the bed (you can’t see those as well with the bed’s shadow).  I guess you have to know them to really appreciate this post.  I just got a kick out of it.  I love each of their quirks. 🙂

Hmm

Somehow between Nicki and me, we’ve accumulated several pairs of khaki pants in the 4T size…not sure why we thought we needed this many for Mac and Matthew.  I guess Patrick is covered in the khaki department!

That’s eight pair.

Patch Time!

We went to the pumpkin path with Dominique and the girls.  We met up with Mac’s friend Peyton and his mom who happens to be a friend of Aunt Dominique’s (and now mine as we see each other every morning at school!).

The rest of the pics I took are here and of course, Shannon’s great pics are here.

Place Value

Mac came home from school and informed me he was going to make this fun game they play at school, that way we could play it at home.  Sounded fun to me!  So he got out his paper and explained that he had to draw mushrooms and label them both.  He asked me, how to do you spell ‘teens’?  So I told him.  Here is his version of the game.

He seriously makes my heart melt.  You can imagine what we do with our little mushrooms that have numbers on them.
