Happy Easter!

Yay Easter!  Drawing our long week of sickness to an end, our family Easter celebration was perfect.  The boys had a blast celebrating Jesus’ resurrection at church, then egg hunting and lunch at Meme’s.

Getting help from Uncle Nate

We were so excited that Uncle Nate could take a small break from his crazy work hours and come hang out for the day.  He and Shannon were in charge of hiding the eggs and did a great job with all 100 of them!

Easter Prep

Thank you, God for healing me in time to enjoy egg dying. 🙂
Shannon even joined us this year.

The evening was a great success.  And we’re ready for tomorrow!

Ah…Spring Break…

It seems like it’s been awhile since we’ve had such gorgeous weather over spring break. I mean the whole time!  Even the rain that was forecast was nothing to worry about.  The boys enjoyed so much outside time and of course when the cousins from Cali came, so so much fun with family the whole time.

They spent so much time outside, especially at the swing.  They stayed out until dark numerous evenings. My boys loved the freedom of running in and out especially so late.

Kennedy and I eat the same thing at Panda Express, so we decided we had to go on a date and enjoy our meal together.  It was great up until I realized I had locked my keys in the van and stranded all seven of us…my wonderful love walked home and got my spare key.  One more point for living off of North Prospect!

It was a great break from our routine. We had a blast despite Grandma Rapp and me having a horrid cold, Mac getting a tummy ache and fever and Tori getting the flu the last two days the other McMahons were here.  Good luck this week, McMahons!  The last time they were here I got strep throat and this time Mac got it.  I think they’re carriers and bring it to us each time.  Should be interesting to see what we get when we visit them this summer…We’ll definitely be risking it. 🙂

We’ll miss spring break, but now the count down to summer is on!  Check out all the action from our break here.

August, here we come!

You’d Think I’d Learn…

January 2008

I get a cold.  I get better.  Mac gets a cold.  He gets better.  Shannon gets a cold.  Seven days later, his cold is still getting worse.  He’s in bed shivering with high fever.  I get mad.  What is taking so long? Normal people are sick for a day or two (like Mac and me) and then they are better.  But Shannon is still sick.  Finally he offers to go to the doctor.  I think, sounds good, but whatever.  Just get over it!  Turns out, he has pneumonia.  Pretty bad.  To make a long story short, he’s admitted to the hospital for a few days for hydration and antibiotics.  I feel horrible.  I judged him.  I got mad at him and he was really sick.  I vow to never do that again.  If he’s sick, take it seriously and get the help he needs!

Fastforward:  March 2012
