Mac will not be moving to a dairy farm.

I learned something new today.  Mac won’t be working on a dairy farm any time soon.  Probably ever.  We had a fun time seeing the 8,000 cows.  Very intriguing to see 100 cows come in, the ‘attendants’ hook the four vacuums to them, then unhook and clean them in 13 minutes.  And funny to hear the owner answer the cute kindergartener’s question, “Can we milk a cow?” with “No, honey.  We have machines that do that!”  But in spite of these fun times, Mac was having absolutely  nothing to do with the cows.  In the beginning, he was interested and very attentive and up front for all the informational parts.  However, when the more ‘interactive’ part came and he was allowed to touch them and see them up close, he hung back with a rather disgusted look on his face.  Quite funny!

Um, no.

Wow…I have two big boys

Patrick, the Destroyer, managed to break his bed.  In his defense, he is no longer a toddler and we did have him in a toddler bed, but still.  I wish I had thought to take a picture of the broken bed, but in my excitement to get rid of it, I forgot.  Oh well, on to the new!  We made him take out the old bed. 🙂

Just a little fun with the packaging while Dad works hard on the bed frame.

Giving me his Rambo face.

TWO big boys

Proud boy ready for bed

He informed me that his head can’t touch the top while his feet touch the bottom. “The bed is just too big, Mom!”  He was also thrilled that he was allowed to keep his pillow and animals from his old bed. 😉  I was worried with how excited he was when I was tucking him in.  I knew it would take him a while to wind down and I was just praying he could sleep sooner rather than later.  Turns out it didn’t take long at all.

Maybe he’s not so big afterall.

Let me read you a book

Title:  I Cant Blev It!
Author:  Mac McMahon

After reading a book about a girl and her stuffed rabbit for homework, he decided to make one of his own.  My son is awesome.  That’s why I love him. 🙂

Smart Boy

Mac’s goal (okay, it may have been more Mommy’s goal, but he was a trooper and worked hard) this school year was to memorize the memory verses from A-Z.  He started strong the first few weeks.

Eight months later…

He did it!!

And his reward…he’s allowed to play with them.  He’s been asking for them all year.

Memorization is one of his biggest strengths.  On all his report cards and conferences, that’s the strength they start with.  Best in the class.  That’s my boy. 🙂
