Birthday Eve

This October 31, we joined the Pritts family for our annual fun on this night.  We carved pumpkins this year.  I DO NOT like carving pumpkins.  It’s too close to Halloween for me and way too messy.  I’ve watched it done several times and each time swore I would never do it.  But I do want my boys to have the experience.  One year Nicki carved with them.  Last year, Aunt Dominique carved with them.  This year, it was my turn.  It was my first year actually doing it all on my own with the pumpkin assigned to me.  Well, Mac did help, but I was in charge of the gutting and carving.  Not too bad for a first timer!

I was so proud of him for jumping right in! He usually isn’t too keen on getting messy with food and such.

Homework for Two!

Patrick came home with his first homework assignment. He was ecstatic to have real homework!  Wish that would last. Mac already fights his daily homework.

He was very serious when writing his name 14 times!

Patch Time!

Because going to Chicago for Legoland wasn’t enough for a weekend, we decided to make our annual trip to Curtis Orchard on Saturday! 🙂

Happy Early Birthday

Legos.  They still rule at our house.  Both boys play with them daily.  So when we headed to California, we originally planned to go to Legoland.  However, we packed our short visit with too much as it was and that was the trip that got nixed.  The boys were okay with that (Disneyland isn’t too shabby of a replacement) when we promised we would take them to Legoland in Chicago for Mac’s birthday.  Mac had last Friday off, so we headed up!  Where Legoland California is an amusement park, Chicago’s Legoland is a Discovery Center…just a tad smaller…….and not quite as exciting…..but the boys still had a blast and Mac was allowed to pick out his birthday present there.

I really wanted to bring one of the large mini-figures home with us!  They were really adorable.  Oh and in the building section, they had earthquake tables.  Patrick had a blast watching things fall down that he had made.  I took a video and of course, not thinking, I turned it sideways and then it when I rotated it, you couldn’t see the tower! So I left it sideways, but you get the idea!
