Mac joined two of his friends in the band contest this year. They did an ensemble before a judge. I was amazed at their poise and ability to play in front of a judge and then get judged by him! The judge gave great feedback and complimented them on a job well done. They earned a 1 rating (which is the best you can get).
Since I had to work over the boys’ Spring Break we couldn’t travel anywhere and they had to come to work with me one day. Not too fun. So we took the weekend for a quick trip to Indy. Before kids, Shannon and I enjoyed a couple fun weekends in downtown Indy. It’s such a great city to walk around and enjoy. We had great visions of staying downtown and just enjoying the city. Then we checked the weather and reality set in. Frigid temps and snow. So we settled for some indoor fun in the burbs.

As we do every year, we started with the Resurrection Eggs. The boys had a great time retelling the Easter story and spending a little time dwelling on what Easter means to us, through the eggs.
Then we tried a new dying technique. It was…interesting…but still fun.
I had a different spring break from the boys this year. So here is a recap of what I did while they were in school.
Day 1: Read while at the doctor’s office for appointments and getting blood drawn.
Day 2: Stay in bed all morning watching Fixer Upper.
Day 3: Opening Day!! Go Cubs Go!!
Day 4: Take a few joyrides in the spaceship.
Day 5: Kids had off. Read while they play video games to start their Spring Break.
