Snow Days

Yay for snow days.  I’m always happy about them now, but sad come June.  Oh well.  Nothing much we can do about it.  It started with a wonderful day of arts and crafts, playing in the snow and enjoying our wonderfully warm home.  Then we got Friday off, too, so it turned into a 4 day weekend!  As always, I took way too many pictures, but posted them all! 🙂 Click on the pic of the boys to see them.

See their video, too.

Happy New Year!

Well 2010 is starting off with me returning to work.  I have a love/hate relationship with my job.  The love:  I have a job, it keeps me with adults on a daily basis, I enjoy being a professional, it makes me appreciate my kids more, it brings in income!  The hate:  I have to get up and go to work everyday, students are extremely rude these days, I have to leave my boys everyday and I’m exhausted each evening.  Although right now I have to work for financial reasons, Shannon and I have discussed many times the possibilities of my quitting someday and I have to say that for now I would still choose to work…most days. 🙂  Although it’s hard each day to get going and leave the boys, I really, really like being around adults.  I am in awe of stay-home moms.  How they live where they work is amazing.  When I stay home in the summer, I get a feel of it for 12 weeks and by the end, I’m ready to be back at work again!  However, after shorter breaks like Christmas break, I’m thinking, I can’t go back to work!  I’d rather be home! So, you see?  Love/Hate…

See my little hams starting January off right.  January

SNOW!

Having kids really does bring back some of the joy that adulthood has stolen.  Mac has been waiting rather impatiently for snow he ‘can play in’.  The other day with our first dusting of snow,  I informed him that it still wasn’t enough to ‘play in’.  He replied with, “I see snow in that crack, Mom! See? We CAN play in it!”  Then today it finally happened.  Watching him traipse around in the snow, I was getting colder and colder.  The wind kept blowing my hair in my face as I was trying to shovel the driveway.  My gloves were wet, so I couldn’t push the hair back.  Too many miserable factors in there for me.  I was getting ready to announce five minutes and we’re headed in, when I saw his face.  He was so inquisitive.  What happens when I touch this?  What happens when I try to ride my bike (yes, he tried for the second year in a row!)?  Suddenly, I was transported back to a kid.  We got one snow a year and it was usually 1/2 inch total.  But we had FUN!  We were so cold and numb going in, but it was so worth it.

So, we stayed out a lot longer this morning. 🙂  See our fun.

Patrick wasn’t as sure about it.  He was also rather upset that his toys wouldn’t ‘work’ in the snow.  So his time outside was short lived.  But his first few minutes out there were cute.  Here he is venturing out.

Here we go again!

Welcome!  Okay, here I go again!  I’m going to try another blog.  Feel free to check in on us anytime to see what we’re up to.

My photo gallery is still running and where I will continue to post the pictures.  Here is where I will ramble as we all know I love to do.  As much as I love to post pictures of my kids, I really miss being able to tell our stories and explain what we’re doing and why.  So…here it is!  We’ll see how long it lasts.  (Can you tell I’m on Christmas break from work and have time? hehe)

Anyway, you can get to my photo gallery that you’re used to by clicking on the Photos tab or following the links in each post.
