Tonight we went to friends’ anniversary party.
They had the backyard every kid dreams of!

A little volleyball.

A little water slide.

And a little golf.

Now bring on the sleepover fun!

While waiting for Daddy to finish up some work, the boys caught lightning bugs in the parking lot. While they were running after them, Mac burst out with “Thank you, Jesus, for lightning bugs!”  Patrick immediately chimed in and soon they were both praising God for the fun they were having.

This weekend I was getting ready for a date night with Shannon.  The boys were going to their Aunt Dominique’s for the evening and night and we were headed out.  As I was coming out of the closet from getting dressed, Mac ran into the room to say something.  When he saw me, he stopped mid sentence and said, “Wow! You look beautiful, Mom!”  It made my day. 🙂

I guess it says something about what I normally wear, as I wasn’t really dressed up.  Just a new shirt and pants I had bought with my birthday money.  But it wasn’t my usual gray t-shirt and jeans.  It’s funny how even a 5 year old knows the difference.

We waited and waited for summer.  Then we had to wait some more while Nicki finished her work.  Finally, she finished and our summer break began.

Today marked the beginning of our days at the pool.  It was a fabulous afternoon.

After watching the weather this evening, it looks like we’re done for the week, but next week, we will return.
