Happy 17th Birthday, Mac

We celebrated Mac turning 17 with family at Oishi. I cannot say enough good things about him. I am so proud of the man he is becoming. He tries very hard to do the right thing. I always have told my boys that my wish for them (and prayed over them) is that they become men of integrity. He’s on the right path!

More Band Competitions

I wasn’t sure how I felt about Patrick doing marching band. But it turns out, I loved it. It was so fun to see him out there. And he’s really good at it! That’s a lot of music and choreography to learn and he rocked it.

The Illinois state competition to end the season was held at Memorial Stadium. Patrick was beyond thrilled to march on a college field. At the end of the competition, the Marching Illini put on a show for us with excerpts from several of their shows. It was amazing to see!

Homecoming 2022

Patrick decided to do homecoming with a group of friends. They’re a great group of boys. One of the parents hosted the dinner for them. Patrick reported that they had a blast dancing all night.

The weekend started with the parade…in the rain.

Then we had the football game…in the rain.

Then we had the halftime show…in the rain.

And just in case you were wondering how Patrick feels about his parents…it’s clear where his allegiance lies.

Band Competition Saturdays

Patrick’s Saturdays are filled with band competitions. This past weekend they won first place in their class, Best Winds (that’s Patrick’s group!) and Best Percussion. It was a great success!
